THAT this meeting be opened at 7:30 p.m. on February 7th., 2005 as a Public Meeting of the Corporation of the Township of Burpee and Mills, pursuant to the requirements of Section 34(12) and (13) of the Planning Act for purposes of providing information to the public and to allow for public representations on applications proposing to amend Zoning By-law 96-01 for the Township of Mills, notice of which has been duly administered according to the requirements of O.Reg.199/96.

The public meeting raised concerns as to there being no evident access to the lot undergoing the zoning amendment which would allow for the construction of a small hunt camp. Reeve Ken Noland commented that an issue of access was not something that would reflect on the zoning amendment but that it would be looked at upon the application for a permit to build.

That we have the clerk submit a letter to the Snow Dusters to remind them of our motion allowing their use of the municipal road allowance for snow machine trails was given upon the condition that all municipal residents are allowed to use the trails on the municipal road allowances without the need of a trail permit. Also that we bring to their attention that the groomer should not groom across the traveled road allowance for it interferes with the municipal snow plow and creates a hazardous situation on the roadway

RESOLUTION

WHEREAS: the Corporation of the Township of Algonquin Highlands has resolved to petition the Minister of Environment and the Ontario Government to implement a system of deposit returns for all metal, glass and plastic beverage containers, and seriously consider mandating reusable plastic drink containers.

AND WHEREAS: the Corporation of the Township of Burpee and Mills is in support of this resolution.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Corporation of the Township of Burpee and Mills hereby supports the Township of Algonquin Highlands recommendation to petition the Minister of Environment and the Ontario Government to implement a system of deposit returns for all metal, glass and plastic beverage containers, and seriously consider mandating reusable plastic drink containers.

RESOLUTION

WHEREAS: the Federation of Northern Ontario Municipalities (FONOM) has resolved to urge the Federal/Provincial governments to fast-track the approval process for application to the Canada-Ontario Municipal Rural Infrastructure Fund.

WHEREAS: the Corporation of the Township of Burpee and Mills agrees that the timing of approvals and receipt of these funds are a great importance to Municipalities:

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that the Corporation of the Township of Burpee and Mills supports the FONOM resolution and hereby urges the Federal/Provincial governments to fast-track the approval process for applications submitted to the Canada-Ontario Municipal Rural Infrastructure Fund.
