Mike Wright Road Superintendent and Dennis Blackburn Fire Chief also attended. No. 20 Moved By Jeff Bailey Seconded By Jeff Middleton That the minutes of the last council meeting held on January 9th. 2006 be approved as circulated. Carried KN No. 21 Moved By Ed Wright Seconded By Jeff Middleton That we approve payment of the Fire Department accounts list of $ 1,010.70. Carried KN No. 21 - A Moved By P. A. Palonen Seconded By Jeff Bailey That road voucher No 1 for the amount of $7,053.58 be passed for payment. Carried KN No. 22 Moved By Ed Wright Seconded By P.A. Palonen That the Corporation of the Township of Burpee and Mills will not continue to be a participating member of the Manitoulin Tourism Association. That we request the Manitoulin Tourism Association reimburse our membership dues for the months remaining in the year of 2006. Our displays will be removed upon the return of these funds. Palonen Seconded By Ed Wright That By-law No. 05 – 06 received it’s required readings and finally passed. Carried KN No. 25 Moved By Jeff Bailey Seconded By P.A. Palonen That we approve payment of the general accounts list of $31,553.41. Carried KN No. 26 Moved By P.A. Palonen Seconded By Ed Wright That By-law No. 06 – 06 received it’s required readings and finally passed. Carried KN No. 27 Moved By Jeff Middleton Seconded By Jeff Bailey That we draft By-law No. 06 – 06 to appoint and auditor. Carried KN No. 28 Moved By P.A. Palonen Seconded By Jeff Bailey The Municipality does not wish to have the land surveyed and registered as a part of any survey plan. Carried KN No. 29 Moved By Jeff Bailey Seconded By Jeff Middleton That we adjourn to meet at our next regular council meeting on March 6th. 2006 at 7:30 o’clock p.m.. Carried KN Resolution moved and passed February 23rd. 2006 Special Meeting No. 30 Moved By Ed Wright Seconded By Jeff Middleton RESOLUTION WHEREAS the Manitoulin Centennial Manor has been accumulating increasing deficit in its annual budget; AND WHEREAS the Manor Board now proposes unacceptable increases to expenditures for 2006 and 2007, to be passed directly to participating municipalities; AND WHEREAS the Manor Board has no satisfactory plan to reduce expenditures to acceptable levels for participating Municipalities; THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Manor Board immediately privatize the Manitoulin Centennial Manor and eliminate the need for the participating Municipalities to contribute money to the Home for the Aged. AND FURTHER THAT the Municipalities send copies of this resolution to the Manitoulin Centennial Manor, Board of Directors, MPP Mike Brown, Minister of Health and Long Term Care, Honourable Mr. George Smitherman and all contributing Municipalities.
